The Police Service of Scotland (or Police Scotland) has now come into effect replacing the former eight police forces. We wish Police Scotland all the best for the future.
It may well be that the recruitment process in the future will change, but for the moment the process remains relatively similar and still includes the SET test. Preparation at this time of change is critical: applicants are well advised to monitor all related police websites on a regular basis to stay abreast of developments.
Excellent news. The recruitment section on the Police Scotland website advises that recruitment for police officers and special constables will be opening soon.
It has been the case that candidates were given only a few days notice for their SET test. Apart from the application form itself and fitness levels, candidates do need to be ready to sit the Standard Entrance Test. Currently…………
40% of people sitting the Standard Entrance Test fail!
30% of graduates sitting the Standard Entrance Test fail!
62% of ethnic minorities sitting the Standard Entrance Test fail!
The Police Practice Papers workbooks have been designed to help you prepare for the test. Since the police force allows you only three attempts at the entrance test, there is a real need to be prepared if you want to make the most of each test opportunity.
The workbooks are written in a clear, concise and to the point style. The introduction to Papers 1-4 contains up-to-the-minute, relevant information about the SET test as well as essential information about exam techniques and how to maximise your results. The Numbers books give preparation techniques for working with numbers and examples of how to work out each question in the Numbers test.
Each practice paper is designed to be as close to the actual test as possible. The workbooks are a must for anyone seriously thinking about a career in the police force in Scotland. We aim to have all orders in the post (first class mail) by the following day.
